Scion Frs Release Series 10
Michael Simari and the Manufacturer
One of the best things about Scion's sweet FR-S sports car is that it's something of a blank canvas for customization. And apparently it's not just for the SEMA crowd and weekend track stars, but also for Scion engineers and product planners themselves. Case in point: the lightly modified Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0, the first and certainly not the last FR-S to get the "Release n.0" edition treatment that Scion has applied to so many of its other models in previous years.
Only 1500 examples of the Release 1.0 will be made, each wearing screaming Yuzu Yellow paint and sporting a wild lower body kit, a prominent rear spoiler extension, an aero kit, a side-fender garnish, and a TRD quad-tip exhaust system. Additional bits and pieces include TRD springs that give it a lower stance, TRD steering wheel and shift knob, dual A/C, HID headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, push-button start-stop, and of course, a numbered commemorative plaque near the gearshift lever.
The FR-S Release Series 1.0 will arrive in dealerships starting in August of this year, nearly three years after the car was first introduced. The car's MSRP was not specified (nor was the model year, for that matter) but Scion has suggested that the Release Series 1.0 will start just under $31K.
